Saturday afternoon, Tokeh, sun, beach, fantastic food, beautiful people, music, African inspired art, wood, scents of, freshly painted walls wafting in the air that was mixed with elation, anticipation, excitement, topped with a let loose feeling. We were at THE PLACE. Sierra Leone's newest showoff. A resort that boosts of 50 chalets, 3 restaurants, ipod and ipad docks, delicious food and uncompromisable hospitality on the glorious white sand beaches that is God's gift to sierra Leone. Although 

not fully completed, the 2 day soft opening was welcomed by Freetown's social and business scene. Tours of the to-be completed resort were given, a generous buffet was provided, a live concert was put on and around 10:00pm people could be found dancing in a circle to the boo-boo band. We were home.We were at THE PLACE to be that evening..

As the city buzzes with excitement about THE PLACE, Wednesday April 3rd will see the official opening on the resort with the president, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma gracing the resort.

 

 They say Luxury has a new location, my hope is that this resort will truly be able to put Sierra Leone on the map. The management and staff seem committed, those who can afford it seem pleased, those who want to complain are complaining, the point is for now its the best Sierra Leone has to offer.
