I stopped at my friend Ivan's new restaurant, Tessa's this evening to congratulate him and his family on the opening. As usual, i was warmly received and ran into other brothers who in their own way are silently and diligently on their grind, engaged in projects that are developing and seeking to propel the country to higher heights. This warms my heart, we are young, ambitious and willing to give back the country we all hail from, despite our changed accents and passports.

 Tessa's is simple, open aired, with a well done menu (which is rare to find in Sierra Leone),  friendly staff and a young aspiring owner who wants to push the bar of expectation in how to  run a restaurant rooted in great services, great prices, of course a fantastic menu and proudly Sierra Leonean. "It is a learning process, but i am here and open to the journey", Ivan re-affirms with a smile.

Tessa, Ivan's mom from which the name of the restaurnt is derived, is a well known chef who has catered for the likes of the President of Sierra Leone, David Beckham and many other notable personalities all around the world. Yet, committed to her roots, has returned home to open a restaurant and catering business.

Ivan treated me to an apple custard pie that was delicious, i was devouring the dessert like i hadn't eaten all day, every bite was beautiful.
