EXCUSE YOU, but she VOGUED IT!

I finally made it to Madame Wokie this morning after many calls from Mary-Ann who in actuality just wanted to help my closet out with some fantastic shoes. "Fatou you are crazy, what are you doing here?", Mary-Ann screams, especially since my huge old truck blocked her entrance. With a huge grin i say "You made Vogue Italia". 

 

                                                                

Moments like this are important for two reasons.

1. as a young woman, born and raised in Sierra Leone, people in Sierra Leone need to know her story because F what you heard, she's making it and doing it with the support of her fashion forward and beautiful family (ZU + Mu) . I like how they operate, one sees the results with the HYPE.

2. THIS type of exposure begins to reshape the image of Sierra Leone to the world...we need to begin telling more complicated, creative, innovative stories to the world about ourselves.  

 Congratulations Mary-Ann, from a fellow Sierra Leonean sister to another, YOU making us PROUD.
