These were the women i grew up listening to, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Brenda Fassie and of course our beloved Miriam Makeba. My mother adored her style, i was young and enthralled by her music. The older i got the more appreciated her music for the truth, soul behind it. Google Doodle did a good job in celebrating her legacy. These are our Africa sheros.
